1. What advantage can we expect by installing iDA.Cast and/or iDA.CMBank?

A

First, iDA.Cast and iDA.CMBank are fully automated systems, and hence you can minimize all the common human errors. Also, since all the major broadcasting equipments are managed and controlled by these systems, you can achieve error-free transmission. Second, since you can schedule and transmit programs with the automated system, it is very cost-effective. Through the use of our technology, you have eliminated the cost of tapes and the equipment managerial expenses.

2. Where can we apply iDA.Cast?

A

This system is applicable for all platform operators such as terrestrial, PP, satellite, cable, and other transmission agencies. Furthermore, icube also provides CastBase™, which is suitable for cable SOs.(With some additional equipments, these systems are also applicable for movie theater and electrical billboard AD systems.)

3. Have these systems been developed by icube's own technology?

Yes. We are proud to state that all parts, from top to bottom, were developed by icube's own technology, including equipment control device to GUI. Due to icube's cutting-edge technology, all of the benefits (such as, faster upgrade and optimal modification) are users' to deploy for maximized functions.

4. It is recommended for SO to use iDA.Cast?

A

There are two types of programs for SO. One is syndicated programs and the other is in-house programs. iDA.Cast is optimized for in-house programs. However, icube also provides CastBase™ which is especially designed for requirements of SO.

5. Do we need another ad insertion system for iDA.Cast?

A

For terrestrial broadcasting and PP systems, iDA.Cast considers an ad clip as a single event. Thus, iDA.Cast manages and transmits ads when cuetones are received. However, SO might need extra information for this issue, because most ad inserters used in SO requires different specifications depending on video servers.

6. How many channels can iDA.Cast and CastBase™ handle?

A

A single iDA.Cast or CastBase™ can handle four channels and is expandable up to 128 channels while automatically controlling up to 1,785 broadcasting equipments.

7. Where are iDA.Cast and iDA.CMBank used now?

A

iDA.Cast is used by more than 20 sites, including KBS, MBC, EBS and SkyLife(Korean Digital Satellite Broadcasting), On-Media (the biggest MPP in Korea), and other major transmission agencies. iDA.CMBank is used by 14 sites, including Seoul and local KBS, MBC, and EBS affiliates.

8. Does iDA.Cast include all of the H/W equipments such as video servers?

A

iDA.Cast is a software developed by icube. Thus, video servers and other H/W equipments can be delivered based upon request through H/W manufacturers.

9. We are using NLE solution now. Can these applications manage and transmit files produced by NLE?

A

It depends mainly on the NLE solutions. Please contact our representatives for more information.

10. Does iDA.Cast interwork with MIS?

A

MIS functions are included in basic iDA.Cast modules. However, non-broadcasting features, such as personnel management or wages, are not included. If you want to include these managerial information, some systems that interacts with iDA.Cast are available from our partner companies.
